Australia 'attracts tourists all year round'

Year-round tourists may make buying property in Australia more attractive.
One of the country's biggest draws is the fact that it is a year-round destination, those looking to buy property in Australia have been told.

Rodney Harrex, general manager for the UK and Northern Europe at Tourism Australia, claimed that at any time of year at least one part of the country will be experiencing great weather.

He explained that the southern states are at their best between October and March, with the north experiencing its driest, hottest weather during the other half of the year.

Mr Harrex claimed that it was impossible to fully appreciate the country in just two weeks, although it would be very enjoyable.

He said: "If you've got more time though, there is so much to see and do so our advice is to go for as long as possible."

Recent figures published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that nearly half a million people visited Australia in May.
