A positive vote has been held over the reversal of a ruling for the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) regarding lot entitlements in the state.
Andrew Staehr, director of Archers Body Corporate Management, told Australian Property Investor that the ruling, which was introduced last year, has now been successfully challenged and could lead to developers reverting lot entitlements back to specifications for when buildings were first registered.
He commented: "These [changes], effective immediately, will allow one owner to submit a motion to the body corporate committee to revert to lot entitlements as set by QCAT."
Mr Staehr added that the move also aims to remove a number of disclosure requirements for sellers, while any motions presently underway for lot rulings are to cease.
Earlier this month, the Queensland government received a significant boost to its economy, with the announcement that its coveted AAA credit rating had been reinstated by the Reserve Bank of Australia.
