Communities of South Australia are busy voting for the best mainstreet in the state as part of an annual competition.
The Mainstreet SA Awards ask people around the state about their high streets and shows the loyalty and support for locations in the area.
This year's awards are open for submissions until September 13th and aim to recognise best practice in management, marketing, contributions to the economy and community and events.
Categories include Outstanding Partnerships, Peoples' Choice, Public Realm/Urban Design and Outstanding Business in a Mainstreet.
The awards are open to councils, business associations, trader groups and events groups keen to gain recognition for the commitment and development of these streets across the state.
After all of the nominations have been made a congratulatory ceremony will be presented on October 18th.
According to the organisers a mainstreet is a street or street section that contains mixed-uses and enables social interaction in the local and wider community.
