Queensland property investors who were affected by flooding stand to gain relief funding.
Prime minister Julia Gillard has announced that funding will be provided to those who had been affected by the floods on Australia Day earlier this year.
The Gillard government is aiming to provide funding for parts of Australia that will have been hard hit by recent flooding.
Some of this fund is intended to reduce insurance premiums that will have been pushed up following the floods. It is also intended to help people in Queensland rebuild their homes, which were devastated by flooding.
Defences and improvements within Queensland will be built so that it can be better prepared for flooding in the future.
As well as Queensland, Western Sydney is an area that Ms Gillard also hopes to give a large portion of funding.
This funding could help to make areas damaged by flooding more appealing for property investors to buy into as the Gillard government improves their defences for the future.
