Kevin Rudd puts house up for sale

Former prime minister Kevin Rudd has put his Canberra house up for sale.

The former Australian prime minister, Kevin Rudd, has put his house up for sale.

Mr Rudd and his wife, Therese Rein, bought the house in Yarralumla, Canberra, in 2010 for $2.18 million. They made the purchase so that their son, Marcus, could finish his studies.

However, since Marcus finished school in 2011, the family have been renting the house.

The property on 35 Mueller Street is going up for sale at $2.25 million.

It contains five bedrooms, four bathrooms, an outdoor entertainment area and a swimming pool.

Shane Killalea, who is the estate agent in charge of the property sale with Peter Blackshaw agency, said that it had attracted a lot of interest from both local, interstate and overseas buyers. He explained that the home would suit a growing family.

Potential buyers are able to see the home but by private appointment only.

Mr Rudd was prime minister of Australia between 2007 and 2010, leading the Labor party.
