Cherie Barber of Renovating for Profit told API magazine that wallpaper has come back into fashion again, having been an interior design no-go for years.
She told the magazine that a few companies have brought out designer wallpapers.
"It's particularly relevant for high-end premium properties, where people are looking to get that designer 'bling' factor, but it doesn't tend to be as prevalent for low-budget renovations," Ms Barber added.
She said that investors can use wallpaper in the properties that they are renovating, but whether they should do really depends on the value of the property.
Ms Barber explained that it would not be worth splashing out on designer wallpaper for a low-budget renovation of around $20,000 (£11,513) on a $300,000 or $400,000 property.
Those looking for Australian properties to renovate may find what they are looking for at a low price in regional areas of the country, RP Data research analyst Cameron Kusher suggested recently to API magazine.
