What makes a good hot spot, well strong and ongoing economic activity, high lifestyle appeal, sustained infrastructure spending, steady population growth and improving development expenditure.

This months prediction that is worth a look is the Whitsundays.

Having achieved annual growth of 12.3% last year this region is benefiting from the significant beauty of the region, which sits on the Great Barrier Reef, as well a the economic power of the Coal mining industry a short drive inland.

Have a look at just a small sample of what's going on:

1. Sonoma Coal Mine

New coal mine near Bowen which is set to inject $300 million and hundreds of jobs into the region’s economy.

2. New Bowen Marina

A planned $650 million dollar revamp

3 New Airlie Beach Marina.

A $500 million marina and luxurious resort village development to rival the best in the world, already underway.

4. Abbot Point Coal Loading Facility

The $116 million Stage 2 expansion of the Abbot Point

5. Bowen included in $50 Billion Plan

Bowen has been picked to be part of a $50 billion project, the biggest ever in Australia, linking the Bowen Basin coal fields and Abbot Point with Western Australia’s Pilbara iron ore province via 3000km of rail.

These are just 5 of the many projects now underway in the region, creating jobs, and lifting the prominence of the region and most importantly providing property growth opportunities.

With prices starting from just A$200,000 (deposit of A$40,000) and the opportunity to secure waterfront properties and views of the Whitsundays from just A$450,000 (Deposit of A$90,000) it is an early entry price that is worthy of consideration.
