Qantas has teamed up with Deliveroo to add the courier service to its Frequent Flyer program, making it possible for customers to be rewarded in new ways.
Members of the national carrier's loyalty scheme will now be able to earn two Qantas Points for every dollar they spend with Deliveroo when ordering a meal from their local restaurant of choice.
The move makes Deliveroo the latest online company Qantas Frequent Flyer has partnered with - and this comes in response to the changing behaviours of members who are becoming increasingly likely to make everyday purchases online.
It also represents the very first time Qantas Frequent Flyer has added an online food delivery company to its list of partners.
Members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer scheme who intend to earn points with Deliveroo will simply be required to download the Deliveroo app or go to the company's website and enter their details in the dedicated Qantas tab on the My Account page.
Additional points can be earned by paying for an order with a Qantas credit card, as points will be earned once on the order and again on the card spend.
Lesley Grant, chief executive officer of Qantas Loyalty said Deliveroo is an exciting addition to the roster of partners, particularly for food lovers.
"Food is the second most popular interest among our members after travel so we think they'll be delighted to discover they can now earn points when they order food from their favourite restaurants through Deliveroo," she commented.
"We know consumers are increasingly moving online to make their purchases so we need to make sure we're giving Qantas Frequent Flyers new opportunities to earn with partners like Deliveroo," Ms Grant continued, noting that this makes it quick and easy to earn points online and through mobile devices.
