I am pleased to advise that our Petition to Parliament on the proposed Australian Tax Residency Changes has been accepted and is open for signatures now until 12 August.
The more that we can get sign the better and we can not afford to be complacent or silent on this matter as it will have dire consequences for expats, tourism, business travelers and the economy.
My focus is on having the proposed 45 days test pushed to at least 90 days and, if possible, EXCLUDE genuine work travel and any COVID quarantining from the day count.
We are also suggesting that the proposed four questions of the Factor Test be changed to more questions with a fair scaling (which was an acceptable option in the review papers)
Please go to this link and e-sign the petition (rest assured your information is confidential, so register your voice without concern) and share the link with your friends, colleagues and family so we can ensure that whatever changes occur are fair and reasonable.
