Australian property 'is good value for UK buyers'

Purchasing an Australian property in the current economic climate could be a good move for UK residents.

UK residents looking to relocate to an Australian property may be encouraged to take the plunge following recent comments from a real estate expert.

Professor Mark Sharp, chief executive of the Association of International Property Professionals, claimed the current economic climate makes it a good time for overseas investors to purchase their dream property abroad.

The expert went on to say Australia's consistently low interest rates and lower dwelling prices could be major factors in encouraging Brits to up sticks.

Additionally, Mr Sharp claimed the country's exchange rates were another reason UK residents could enjoy a wealthier lifestyle down under.

"With the constant ebb and flow of emigration and immigration, buying is very popular for the UK. There is always the additional attraction of warm climates," he added.

This comes after Tom Blackett, spokesman for the Australian Visa Burea, highlighted the differing price of dwellings in various regions of the country.
