5CC collaborate on new visa application centre

A new visa application centre has been opened following collaboration between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and US.
A new collaboration between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and US, often known as the Five Country Conference (5CC), has resulted in the creation of a new visa application centre in Singapore.

Opening this week for Australia, New Zealand and UK visas, the service, which has been formulated alongside VFS Global, is designed to provide people travelling to Australia and other 5CC countries with a seamless visa application process.

It is also intended to tackle visa and identity fraud, with the centre responsible for handling applications, while the respective immigration authorities will each assess them, revealed British high commissioner Antony Phillipson.

The use of shared visa application facilities will save us costs through shared infrastructure and resources, and allows us to maintain the very high levels of service we provide to our customers," he added.

Some of the main features of the new application centre will be longer operating hours, standardised documentation and dedicated counters for applicants and travel consultants.
