WA 'is overseas property expert's favourite destination'

Margaret River, in Western Australia, has been pinpointed as the best place in the world by overseas property expert Amanda Lamb.

An overseas property expert has revealed that her favourite place in the world is located in Australia.

Amanda Lamb, presenter of Channel 4 television programme A Place in the Sun, said that she owns a house in Italy, but that if she could choose anywhere in the world to own a property it would be in Margaret River, in Western Australia.

"It's just about two hours south of Perth. It's my favourite place in the world," she explained.

Ms Lamb went on to say that, over the last few years, people been a little bit tentative about buying houses abroad, such as property in Australia.

"But I think we are getting them back on the beat and the toe is being dipped back in the water," she added.

Back in December, the 2010-11 Government Mid Year Financial Projections Statement for Western Australia suggested that the economy of the state was well on track towards recovery.
