Lend Lease's updated design for the Barangaroo South development in Sydney has been welcomed by the Property Council of Australia.
It said the Australian property developer has "preserved the fundamental elements of an imaginative design that gives Sydney a vibrant new public place,"
The development, which contains commercial, retail and residential property as well as public space, is located on the city's West Quay.
"Barangaroo will also usher in a new transport gateway to the city and provide a significant advancement in sustainability outcomes," commented Glenn Byres, acting executive director for the council's New South Wales branch.
"It will give Sydney a competitive edge as we fight on the international stage for the jobs and investment we want."
Last week, the Sydney Morning Herald revealed that the planning powers used for Australian property in the state capital are to be reviewed.
Planning minister, Tony Kelly, said the move comes in response to several changes in the system over the past decade.
