Gold Coast City Council wins Architects' Award

The continuing maturity of the Gold Coast Property market was recently recognised in an award from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. This is bound to have a flow on effect to property generally in the area.

The Gold Coast City Council has been awarded the highest honour the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Queensland Chapter can bestow - the President's Award for commitment to architecture and urban design.

The Award, announced this month, recognises the Council's ongoing commitment to the quality of architecture and urban design through the establishment of the Office of City Architect & Heritage three years ago. The Gold Coast City Council is believed to be the only Local Government Council in Australia which appoints a City Architect. Philip Follent is currently the Gold Coast City Architect.
