Soon after the Budget was presented, the Morrison Government has announced that the Federal Election will be held on the 21st May.
I don’t like to be political, as it never ends well, but I will say that there is a strong sense of “playing the man not the ball” and crying it “could have been better”.
Regardless of your political persuasion, anyone would not welcome the issues that have been faced over the past 3 years, and the fact that Australia has come out of this in relatively good shape and with the population employed and economy expanding is quite an achievement and certainly no accident.
It will be interesting to see how Australia decides in May as there seems to be an undercurrent seeking change, however given Prime Minister Morrison’s history where he pulled off an unlikely victory in 2019, it is way too close to call.
