The production of certain construction materials used to build property in Australia increased from August to September.
This is according to a report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which shows that 2.09 million square metres of pre-mixed concrete was produced in September, compared to the 2.01 million square metres that was produced in the previous month.
In September 2009, 1.9 million square metres was produced, so a 9.3 per cent increase has occurred over the past 12 months.
As for plasterboard, however, those seeking to buy a new property in Australia may be interested to learn that production of this material decreased from 14.5 million square metres in August to 14.2 million square metres in September.
Earlier this month, a survey of approximately 1,800 construction-related businesses found that confidence had improved across the country's construction sector.
The study was conducted by international property and construction consultant Davis Langdon.
