Buyers of Australian property 'should be optimistic'

There is a lot to be optimistic about in the Australian property market, it has been claimed.
It is important to remember that there is a lot of good news about the Australian property market, an expert has claimed.

Peter Koulizos, writing for Australian Property Investor Magazine, has said that the media has created a doom and gloom image which does not accurately reflect the situation for investors.

He identified rising rents, stable inflation and low unemployment as key factors that should make those looking at buying Australian property optimistic.

"Despite what you may read or hear in the media, all is not lost. Yes, property prices are dropping, but don't expect them to drop for too much longer," he explained.

Mr Koulizos added that, while there is pressure on inflation, the current trends suggests that this will ease and a rise in interest rates will not be a catastrophe.

Earlier this month, independent property industry expert Malcolm Harrison suggested that there is a growing interest in buy-to-let Australian property.
