The once quite coastal town of Bowen, located in the picturesque Whitsundays region is proving itself as a investment hot spot.
The strategic combination of fantastic tourism and lifestyle advantages of the Whitsundays with the employment and economic activity of the Coal industry and supporting infrastructure is catching the eye of many investors looking for the "next big thing".
According to Valuers ACVAL J D Dodds in their April 2006 newsletter "The outlook for Bowen in 2006 is strong."
They go on to state that "Residential property in Bowen is steadily increasing. Expansion on coal mines in Collinsville, and the announcement by the State Government of a $116 million expansion of the Abbot Point Coal loading facility has seen rentals increase and lower to mid properties in demand from investors. Bowen is also in the running as a proposed site for a Chinese backed Aluminium Smelter."
With all of this happening in the region it is hard to ignore the potential for this area, particularly when you cosider the very attractive entry prices to this area.
