Many of those receiving bonuses this year may consider investing in Australian property, it has been claimed.

There will be growth in the number of "investor-focused" individuals set to enter the market, according to Adam Samuel, the director at online overseas property resource Nubricks.com.

He explained: "I imagine it is probably the case where we are a year on from the economic crisis and of course people are potentially getting bonuses around this time of year and want to put those into something.

"Those kinds of investor-focused individuals will be coming into the marketplace and obviously looking for good things to buy."

The comments come after head of research at Property Frontiers Christopher Chadd claimed that Australia has largely avoided the price drops experienced throughout the rest of the western property market.

He indicated that the Australian property market is an "anomaly on the global stage".
