Proposals for the expansion of the Olympic Dam in Adelaide could have major benefits for those investing in Australian property in the area, it has been claimed.
Australian Property Investor reports a study from Jones Lang LaSalle has highlighted how this project could be a key driver for growth in the area over the next 15 years, with demand for Adelaide office space in particular forecast to rise by up to 35 per cent.
Director of research and consulting at the consultancy David Snoswell told the publication: "The Olympic Dam expansion will provide long-term benefits to the South Australian economy and property sectors, significantly improving the state's finances."
A final decision on whether the project will now go ahead is set to be announced before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Property Council of South Australia executive director Nathan Paine recently revealed his belief that the ongoing mining boom in Australia could hold significant benefits for Adelaide property.
