Richard Hinch leads of our SMATS Wealth team and is also responsible for providing advice to both new and existing clients, helping them to work towards their long-term financial goals and objectives.

A Certified Financial Planner (CFP^®) with a Masters degree in Financial Planning, Richard's passion lies in empowering his clients through education and dedicates himself to ensuring that they understand the financial strategies that will lead them to a better financial position in the future.

Richard’s early career saw him working for 10 years in investment management in London advising charitable Trusts and large corporate pension clients on their investments.  Upon relocating to Western Australia, Richard worked as a stockbroker in Perth before becoming a Financial Adviser in 2006. Richard then worked in both the boutique and banking advice sectors before joining the SMATS Wealth team in 2019.

Areas of Richard’s expertise include providing long term investment and retirement planning advice to Australian residents and expatriates and assisting clients protect their wealth with appropriate personal insurance recommendations. Richard has a strong background in assisting clients with their Self-Managed Super Funds; his knowledge in this field is demonstrated by his Specialist Adviser designation (SSA^®) with the SMSF Association.
