Interior decorating can be a tricky game when you take the DIY road. Whether you start from scratch or give an existing room a makeover, the whole process is a lot easier (and cheaper) if you plan ahead.
You could do your planning with pen and paper, then go out and find fabric swatches and colour cards. Or, for those of us who are more `tech-savvy', there are software programs available such as DesignMyRoom.
Launched online by Swatchbox Technologies, the program allows you to decorate a real room `virtually' by uploading a photo of the room.
You then start decorating it by adding floor coverings, paint, fixtures, furniture, etc from the online library which can be resized, rotated and moved around the room. Or you can upload your own images and insert them into the room to get an accurate idea of what your room could look like without actually putting in the physical work.
