Rental properties in Victoria 'will fetch premium prices in 2011'

Properties to rent in Victoria, Australia, are increasing in popularity, so they could fetch premium prices this year, TakeABreak.com.au has claimed.

Properties to rent in the Australian state of Victoria are expected to fetch premium prices this year due to their increasing popularity.

This is according to rental accommodation website TakeABreak.com.au, which revealed that the Bays and Peninsulas region in the south of the state is the most highly-searched region in the country.

Joint chief executive officer of TakeABreak.com.au Justin Butterworth said: "Victoria has almost 1,900 km of coastline, which is a fantastic draw card with tourists looking for a break in any season."

He went on to say that it also boasts a high level of culture and is great for shopping food lovers.

The website also predicts that Wallaroo in South Australia's Yorke Peninsula will also perform well in 2011, as will Kiama in the Illawarra region of New South Wales.

Last month, Australian Bureau of Statistics figures showed that the number of people that visited Australia on a short-term basis in November 2010 totalled 504,800, in seasonally adjusted terms.
