The ongoing interest in Queensland property is boosting the local economy.

The ongoing interest in Queensland property is boosting the local economy as one estate agency confirms expansion plans.

Fletchers Gold Coast, co-winner of the 2013 Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) Large Agency of the Year, is planning to cover many new suburbs as demand in the area continues to grow.

The agency will now have dedicated property consultants covering Burleigh, Southport, Arundel, Labrador and Runaway Bay and surrounding areas.

Queensland managing director Christopher Stear explained: "We have just formalised a dedicated project marketing division headed by a multi-award winning specialist to cater even further for the unique requirements of developers and investment clients."

He added the time will be based at of the Victoria Fletchers office but will be working remotely so they can met the needs of buyers and sellers.

Figures from the agency show that sales increased by 50 per cent in 2013 compared to the previous year.
