It is hoped that a new promotional campaign by Brisbane Marketing, the Queensland city's economic development agency and a subsidiary of Brisbane City Council, will boost tourism and investment in the region.

Those thinking of buying property in Australia may wish to consider the state capital, as the tourism drive highlights the city's diverse range of attractions and exclusive events being held during the summer, etravelblackboard.com reported.

John Aitken, chief executive of Brisbane Marketing, told the news provider that the three-month campaign will be rolled out across Queensland in a bid to encourage visitors to stay longer and enjoy more of the city's offerings.

He said: "This targeted approach enables us to showcase the city as a must-visit destination no matter what your interest and passion. There is so much to see and do here and we are proud to offer something for everyone."

Earlier this month, the Australian Visa Bureau reported that a record number of Britons were emigrating to the city of Brisbane, which may include those investing in Australian property.
