Karratha land release to ease housing pressure

Those seeking to purchase Australian property may want to focus their attentions on Western Australia, as the government has just released a further 100 residential lots in the state.

Western Australia's (WA) government has released a further 100 residential lots at LandCorp's Baynton West estate, which could interest those seeking to invest in Australian property.

These lots have been released in an attempt to address the housing shortage that is currently present in Karratha.

Regional development and lands minister Brendon Grylls said:"There is high demand for residential land in Karratha."

"This release comes off the back of 50 lots made available by LandCorp in October for Karratha business owners and their employees," he added.

The lots range in size from 381 sq m to 987 sq m and are priced from $165,000 (£104,000) to $303,500.

People attracted by the prospect of investing in the lots can register their interest online.

Earlier in the month, the WA government's housing minister Bill Marmion announced that the construction of 1,000 new Australian properties is to be completed in the state by Christmas.
