The Darling Quarter Commonwealth Bank Place development from Land Lease has been recognised for its ambitious design ethos and ability to deliver a unique experience to guests and visitors.
It has been named as a winner at the 2012 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Global Awards for Excellence - an accolade handed to just 14 projects around the world each year.
Managing director for Land Lease's Inner Urban Development business in Australia David Rolls highlighted the innovative digital facade of the development as one of its standout features - it enables the public to choose from an array of interactive options, from playing live video games to viewing classic pieces of art.
He said: "The interactive facade at Darling Quarter is like no other in the world ... This type of social interaction gives Darling Quarter a new dimension of engagement."
Each year, the awards offered by ULI are designed to recognise excellence in design, construction, economics, planning and management.
