Hamilton Island will have even more opportunities for their guests to whet their appetites after they revealed construction on a number of new developments would commence later this year.
In a summary of new developments planned for the island was released this week, four major projects were pencilled in to commence in 2006, including further extensions to the marina and a golf course on neighbouring Dent Island.
Other developments set to start this year include the construction of a dynamic new yacht club, and North Point, which will consist of 28 luxury villas and a would-class restaurant.
North Point will be located on the secluded northern beach on Hamilton Island and upon completion is expected to be one of Queensland’s best resorts.
Meanwhile, in their summary released on Tuesday 31st January 2006, Hamilton Island Enterprises said while they were still in the final stages of obtaining government approval to commence work on an international standard golf course for Dent Island they were confident work would start in late 2006.
All of the projects are expected to be completed by next year, with the exception of the golf course which is due to be opened in 2008.
Since buying the island nearly two years ago, owner Bob Oatley and the family revealed a vision to transform the tropical paradise into one of the world’s most renowned resort and residential destinations.
