Gold Coast's property market appeal rises with links to other cities

The Gold Coast of Australia is one of the most popular places for those who are going on holiday, which is part of the reason why it's also a frequent choice for those buying and investing in property in this area.

However, there are now increasingly frequent flights to Sydney and Melbourne that are available all year round from the Gold Coast, which are helping to make it an even more popular choice for buyers, reports Domain.

The Gold Coast is known for its excellent weather, beaches and watersports, but now these flights are making it easy for people to work interstate - in Sydney or Melbourne - and fly home on the weekend.

With this option, the short flights are making the Gold Coast a type of commuter city for many who want to live in this area.

James Ledgerwood, an agent from McGrath Broadbeach properties, has said that the Gold Coast market performance is currently very strong. In particular, the Palm Beach coastal strip is the strongest performer out of the beachfront markets in the area for what are known as prestige homes.

Mr Ledgerwood commented: "There have been nine beachfront houses sold in the last six months and they're all selling in low days on market."

He went on to say that although the market isn't showing top price growth, it is still consistent "from the riverfront to the beachfront and some penthouses".

Jesse Willcox, an agent from Lambert Willcox, added that in particular, interstate and overseas buyers are finding a lot of value on the Gold Coast.

This area has been free from the huge rise in property costs that have occurred throughout Melbourne and Sydney, highlighting another reason why the Gold Coast is so popular.

There are also a plethora of unique properties on the Gold Coast, giving it an advantage over so many other areas of the market that display too many similar-looking properties.
