Free avocado on toast incentive for Brisbane property buyers

Property buyers in south-west Brisbane are being attracted to a new estate of townhouses with the incentive of a year's free supply of avocado on toast if they purchase one of the homes on offer at the development.

The estate in question is in the Sherwood area of Brisbane and is being marketed by local real estate agent firm Ray White.

When interested buyers receive a brochure describing the properties on offer, the blurb explains if they purchase one of the townhouses on offer, they will be surrounded by "quality craftmanship and chic design elements", with ducted air conditioning provided and the opportunity to benefit from a first-time buyer's grant.

However, in bold type above this description, suggesting its higher importance, is the news that each house comes with a free 12-month supply of millennial favourite avocado on toast.

This generation is primarily who the estate agent wants to attract to the estate, so by offering them vouchers for a free serving of avocado on toast at their favourite local cafe every weekend for a year, it hoped to pique their interest.

It is also specified that couples who purchase one of the properties together will be entitled to two free servings of the much-Instagrammed dish, so they won't have to worry about sharing.

Speaking to 7News, real estate agent Cameron Crouch explained that some interested buyers seen more excited about the free avocado on toast than the prospect of owning their own home.

"The first question is, 'is this the real deal, will you give us the avocado on toast?'. And we said, 'yep, definitely, without a doubt'," he explained.

"You really have to think outside the box now. It's about being able to get a nice property, but still have that lifestyle. You really have to think outside the box now."

The clever marketing tactic has attracted a great deal of interest both throughout Australia and across the globe, with the phone reportedly 'ringing off the hook' in the Ray White office.
