Coal tycoon's mansion goes up for sale

Coal tycoon Nathan Tinkler is selling his Brisbane mansion.

Coal tycoon Nathan Tinkler's mansion has gone up for sale, and he is expecting it to sell for somewhere between $4 million and $5 million.

The Brisbane estate covers seven hectares of land and contains seven bedrooms, five bathrooms as well as a home cinema, gym, wine cellar with climate control and a garage that can hold nine cars.

It is one of a number of trophy homes that the Tinkler family own and was bought by his wife, Rebecca, for $5.2 million in 2007.

If the mansion does not sell before then it will go up for auction on June 13th. It has already been on the market for a fortnight.

This is not the first of Mr Tinkler's property assets to have gone up for sale recently.

Back in April, Mr Tinkler also announced that he was selling Patinack Farm, his thoroughbred horseracing and breeding operation.

As well as horseracing and coal mining, Mr Tinkler also owns the sports teams the Newcastle Jets and the Newcastle Knights.
