The delegates of the 2016 Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE16) have descended to the largest tourism event for the country this year and they were greeted by the dulcet tones of Chris Hemsworth, voiceover star of the There's Nothing Like Australia campaign.
He is referred to as 'the voice' of Tourism Australia's latest advert, which is one of the main pushes for the operator's aquatic and coastal experiences marketing campaign.
Guests at the opening of the conference weren't just treated to Chris' voice though, as they also enjoyed an authentic Australian menu - showcasing the cuisine of the country available for tourists.
The food and drinks on offer included local Gold Coast produce and seafood, local beers and Australian wines against a backdrop of sun, surfing and water.
For his part, Chris shared his personal insights into Australia's world-class aquatic and coastal experiences with guests attending the event.
He is turning out to have been the perfect ambassador for the advert because he and his family recently moved back to Australia, as he wanted to raise his children in his native country.
Commenting on his home he said: "I've been travelling a lot over the last few years and I've got to say every time I come back I appreciate it even more, and think how lucky I am to have grown up and live here."
Figures from the ATE16 revealed that he is single-handedly doing a lot of work for the boost of tourism into the country.
It seems that his involvement in the aquatic and coastal campaign by Tourism Australia has generated more than 2,000 media stories, which is the equivalent of $55 million (£28 million) marketing dollars.
Comparatively, the documentary series on the Great Barrier featuring Sir David Attenborough has seen 900 stories, which is equal to a marketing value of $5.3 million (£2.68 million).
Summing up the sincerity of his sentiment in the There's Nothing Like Australia adverts, Chris added: "I'm excited to welcome the rest of the world to experience what I grew with."
