The residential inner-east property market has been deluged by first home buyers keen on securing their first home in some of Sydney’s most sought after areas.

Carrington’s sales executives have been fielding large enquiries for homes and apartments up to $600,000, with record numbers at open for inspections.

“I’ve been seeing more and more interested buyers coming through the open for inspections, particularly in Surry Hills and Redfern,” says Ben Forsyth, Carrington’s residential sales executive.

“I’ve also issued contracts on two properties in the same week of them being listed, so the demand is really high at the moment.”

The tight rental market is encouraging owner-occupiers to consider buying rather than renting, plus investors are being lured back enticed by the attractive returns in key suburbs such as Surry Hills and Redfern.
