Buyer confidence 'is returning'

Greater confidence is returning to the Australian property market.

Increasing confidence is returning to Australian property buyers at present, with more people considering investment in new homes as a result.

Australian Property Investor reports that the Genworth Homebuyer Confidence Index has revealed home buyers are increasingly positive about the state of the property sector and believe they could benefit from moving now, with prices likely to rise in the coming months.

Genworth chief executive officer Ellie Comerford commented: "Australia has some compelling economic indicators and a low cash rate that is making many potential homebuyers believe that now is a good time to be considering home ownership."

However, he added that macroeconomic concerns could hinder the Australian property market in the future.

Earlier this month, Chan & Naylor director Ken Raiss told the publication that those looking to move should act fast in the current financial climate, as prices for homes are only likely to increase over the coming years.
